It shines in our synagogue as a reminder of spiritual guidance and our shared responsibility to sustain Jewish life. Inspired by its meaning, the Eternal Light Society honors those who include Temple Emanuel in their estate plans, at any level, ensuring the strength and vitality of Temple Emanuel as the center of Jewish life in the Merrimack Valley for generations to come.
As you reflect on the values you hold dear, we invite you to consider leaving a legacy that reflects the role Temple Emanuel has played in your life. Your future gift will become part of our endowment—or directed toward a purpose you specify—helping to strengthen and preserve Jewish life for years to come, and ensuring that your values are inextricably linked to future generations.
There are multiple ways you can provide for our temple’s future, including:
- A bequest provision in your will or living trust. A bequest is a gift in your will or trust that Temple Emanuel will receive at a future date. Your gift may be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after all other provisions are specified. See sample charitable bequest language here.
- A beneficiary designation in your individual retirement account (IRA) or retirement plan, donor-advised fund or life insurance policy. In each case, you may choose to leave all or part of the account to Temple Emanuel. Contact your plan/policy administrator to obtain beneficiary forms.
