Thank you to everyone who helped make our Winter Clothing Drive such a big success! Check out this excerpt from a great write-up on Patch.com highlighting our hard work, generosity, and impact on our local community.
Temple Emanuel of Andover has donated hundreds of items to a local nonprofit after its Warm Winter Clothing Drive, the temple has announced.
The drive was run by the temple’s Social Action and Social Justice Committee, which collected coats, pants, sweaters, hats, gloves and scarves. The items then were given to Debbie’s Treasure Chest, a Lawrence-based organization that provides aid and support for disadvantaged and at-risk families in the Merrimack Valley and surrounding areas.
According to the temple, volunteers organized the clothing after it was received. Then, the items were brought to John Anton’s Cleaners, which “generously cleaned” the clothes before they were handed over to Debbie’s Treasure Chest.
