MLK Shabbat Service with Guests Rev. Lyndon A. Myers and Minister Michael Belcher & Jewish Naming Ceremony
17 Jan @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Location: Sanctuary, Zoom, Facebook
Gather with us for an inspirational Shabbat Tzedek, a Sabbath of Justice, to celebrate the values of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with honored guests Reverand Lyndon A. Myers and Minister of Music, Michael Belcher, of Andover Baptist Church, who will join our service in prayer and song. Pastor Myers will deliver a sermon on “The Divine Kingdom” (Daniel, 2:31-45) and reflect on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life and work as the chief spokesperson for nonviolent activism in the civil rights movement.
Additionally, the Torah portion of “Names” falls on this special Shabbat in 2025. Rabbi Wilfond will offer a naming ceremony during the service and will present those who have signed up with a Jewish name certificate. If you or your child(ren) never received a Jewish name and would like to, please sign up for the ceremony by January 10. Rabbi Wilfond will then be in touch with you regarding your Jewish name selection.
Our year-round Shabbat evening services are warm and filled with the music and spirit of our community. The services will be followed by an Oneg.
