Temple Emanuel of Andover Welcomes Members of Temple Emanu-El of Haverhill

At the conclusion of a congregational meeting on May 15, members of Temple Emanuel of Andover voted unanimously to provide a new spiritual home to the members of Temple Emanu-El of Haverhill. Likewise, Temple Emanu-El of Haverhill voted unanimously in support of joining the Andover congregation. News of the unification was published in the Jewish Journal ahead of a special June 1 information session at Temple Emanuel, during which members of the Haverhill congregation will be welcomed to meet with members of the Temple Emanuel community, learn more about the integration of the congregations, ask questions and register for membership. Here’s an excerpt of the May 23 article:

“After months of dialogue and shared visioning, Temple Emanuel of Andover is proud to announce an agreement to welcome the members of Temple Emanu-El of Haverhill into its community. This unification follows Temple Emanue-El of Haverhill’s recent vote to close its doors at the end of June and become part of Temple Emanuel of Andover, marking the beginning of a new chapter for two historic centers of Jewish life in the Merrimack Valley.”
