Online Access
All of our services will be accessible via Zoom. Links will be emailed to members in good standing and ticketed guests in advance of services.
Tickets for Members’ Guests
Our members are welcome to purchase tickets for their guests to join us for the High Holy Days. Guest tickets are $180 per person for onsite services for individuals over the age of 18 and $180 per household for online access. New this year: members in the Family and Next Chapter dues categories are entitled to complimentary guest access for your children, regardless of their age. College students and active military personnel are also entitled to complimentary access. Participation in Temple Emanuel’s Benefactors Society may include complimentary High Holy Day tickets as well. Members, click here to order tickets for your out-of-town guests by September 15.
Non-member Guest Tickets for Local Residents
Guest tickets for onsite services are available for purchase by nonmembers who are new to the area. The cost of guest tickets will be applied toward dues if the guests become temple members during the fiscal year. The cost of a ticket is $360 per person. Guest tickets allow attendance at all High Holy Day services. Please contact the temple office at 978-470-1356 for more information.
College students and active military personnel are welcome to worship with the congregation at no charge.
Reciprocal Tickets
Members in good standing who plan to be away for the High Holy Days and would like to secure reciprocal tickets at a fellow URJ congregation should contact the temple office by September 15 or fill out this form. Temple Emanuel offers complimentary guest access to members in good standing at other congregations affiliated with the URJ. If you desire reciprocal guest tickets, please have a staff member from your home congregation complete this form by September 15.
Children’s Programs
High Holy Day programs, specifically for children ages 4 through 9 (or grade 4), will be available on Rosh Hashanah, Kol Nidrei and Yom Kippur. These programs typically include musical components, holiday-appropriate story time and activities, gross motor play, as well as social and artistic activities with peers. Registration is required for children’s programs and capacity is limited. Click here to register by September 15.
We also offer services for families with young children on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur afternoons designed for children under six and their adults. Led by clergy and our High Holy Day songleader, these special services include singing, movement, storytelling and learning.
Challah Orders

Prayer Book Bookplates
To honor or remember those you care about – or to express lasting appreciation to Temple Emanuel – consider purchasing beautiful bookplates for our High Holy Day prayer books. For a gift of $180, a set of two bookplates will be customized with your dedication – one for the Rosh Hashanah prayer book and one for the Yom Kippur prayer book. Your generosity will also be recognized in our donor newsletter. Click here by September 15 to order bookplates to be inserted in prayer books used during 2024 High Holy Day services.
College Student Care Packages
Temple Emanuel Sisterhood keeps your children connected with our community! Packages are sent to college students of Sisterhood members – and to college students of those who make a $54 per student donation to Sisterhood – for the High Holy Days and Pesach. Prayer Books for Zoom Services
We recommend that online participants borrow or purchase a machzor (prayer book) to enhance your High Holy Day experience and aid in your participation during services, as the prayers will not be projected onscreen. To borrow Mishkan HaNefesh from the temple, please fill out this form by September 15. You can order your own print versions of Mishkan HaNefesh in standard and large print formats at www.ccarpress.org or an ebook version on Kindle.
Volunteer Ushers
All ushering is performed by Temple Emanuel members. We have a wonderful corps of ushers coordinated by the Brotherhood. If you are interested in being an usher and performing this mitzvah, please click here to sign up.
Yizkor Book of Remembrance
Our Book of Remembrance, which includes Yizkor liturgy, serves as a memorial to the deceased an in inspiration to the living. It is customary in the Jewish tradition to remember our departed through the act of tzedakah and contribute in their memory. Please consider a gift so that our Temple community may continue to carry on the traditions of our people and the values that have continued to shape us. To submit names of family members you wish to remember and honor in the Book of Remembrance, complete this form by September 15.
Yom Kippur Food Drive
Each year, Temple Emanuel hosts a Yom Kippur food drive in the spirit of tikkun olam. This year we’re offering a hybrid approach for your convenience. Click here to make a donation or bring a bag of non-perishable food and paper goods to the temple on Yom Kippur. We will deliver our collection to Bread & Roses food pantry in Lawrence.
Security
It is very important that our congregation feel that they can safely worship. To that end, we have contracted with a private security company to have a uniformed security officer onsite for all of our in-person services at Temple Emanuel. The security officer will have a visible presence and has been well trained through a reputable company.
