Temple Emanuel Helps the Homeless and Hungry in Partnership with Lazurus House Ministries

Lazurus House Ministries, a Lawrence-based non-profit is dedicated to offering community, food, shelter, clothing, and advocacy services with an open and non-judgmental heart to individuals and families facing the challenges of homelessness and food insecurity. Temple Emanuel’s Social Action Committee, dedicated to the practice of tikkun olam—Hebrew for repairing the world—helps the congregation live this essential Jewish value. In conjunction with the committee’s many hands-on support efforts, the organization hosts a speaker series focused on pressing social justice initiatives. The Andover Townsman recently published a story about February 1 forum that illustrates neighbors helping neighbors.
