Yom HaShoah Shabbat Service with Guest Speaker Jody Kipnis, Co-Founder, President and CEO of the Holocaust Legacy Foundation
10 Apr @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Location: Sanctuary and Zoom
This Shabbat, in solemn observance of Yom HaShoah, our service will include liturgy and memorial rituals to honor the memory of the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust. Yom HaShoah – Israel’s national day of commemoration – falls on the 27th of Nisan on the Hebrew calendar, marking the anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, the largest and longest-lasting act of Jewish resistance during the Holocaust. The date was chosen to highlight the indomitable spirit of the Jewish people in the face of death and desperation. We are honored to welcome guest speaker, Jody Kipnis, Co-founder, President and CEO of the Holocaust Legacy Foundation, whose mission is to preserve the memory, lessons and legacy of the Holocaust through educational initiatives, impactful programs and widespread outreach. Our Shabbat services are warm, welcoming, and filled with music and community. The service will be followed by an oneg, offering time to gather, reflect and be together.
