Music is integral to the liturgical and cultural life at Temple Emanuel. Our music and cultural programs include choral and instrumental groups comprised of congregants, which participate worship services and occassionally at community events. At Temple Emanuel, we are blessed to have opportunities for all ages to get involved.
Aliyah:
Our house band, Aliyah, is an ecletic group of singers and musicians who pull from a range of genres and help us engage all our senses as we worship together. Aliyah performs on select Friday nights and holidays. Their music is equally prayerful, joyful and uplifting.
The Soul Sisters:
The Soul Sisters are a group of female vocalists from within the congregation who share enthusiasm for singing. Their repertoire includes spirited interpretations of traditional prayers and contemporary Jewish music. Led by Cantor Rachel Reef-Simpson, the Soul Sisters regularly participate in Shabbat services as well as special events. Their music engages the congregation and they are a cherished addition to Temple Emanuel’s music program. No auditions are necesssary, only a love for singing.
